Embedded Linux SW Engineer

Vizmonet is currently seeking a Linux Developer with extensive experience in Embedded Linux environment. The candidate will be responsible for development, coding, testing of firmware and driver integration in embedded radio modules. The candidate will have strong understanding of Linux and hands on experience in wireless communication product development. This position needs autonomous, self-motivated and team oriented individual with the ability to produce the deliverables independently with no immediate supervision.

Job Profile and Responsibilities

  • Design, code and integrate software for an embedded Linux platform
  • Customization, deployment and maintenance of Linux software on different hardware platforms
  • Interact with Linux kernel and integrate new radio drivers
  • Involve in continuous improvement and maintenance
  • Involve in testing, debugging and engineering validation activities
  • Co-ordinate on user documentation
  • Co-ordinate the transfer to production

Qualification and Skill set Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science
  • 5 Years of work experience in Embedded Linux Programming and C/C++
  • Hands on experience in Open WRT, madwifi and athxk drivers is a must
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP,IPV4,IPV6 and Network Programing
  • Ability to write effective and reusable code according to best practices
  • Strong understanding of Linux kernel and Radio driver development
  • Knowledge of hardware and low-level development is an asset
  • Knowledge of Web technologies such as, Perl CGI, HTML, Javascript, Java is an asset
  • Exposure to Software development methodology like Agile is an asset
